In June, we took steps down a path of healing by tending to our communication and confidence. This month, however, we are reflecting on our sense of reality, bringing peace to our processes, and receiving wisdom for clarity about the present and our vision for the future. In this post, I'm sharing what you need to know about 1 ingress, 3 retrogrades, and 2 cazimis. There are 18 other aspect-related astrological events, plus the regular moon ingresses (every 2-3 days), and Sun entering Leo. Get ready because it's time to connect to the cosmos of the July 2026 Astrology!
Neptune Retrograde in Aries
It's been a few months since we've chatted about Neptune as being a part of the major headlines. While an outer planet Retrograde isn't exactly breaking new (they happen every year for half the year), it's the first one that's fully in the sign of Aries since the 1870s! Neptune began its modern, extended stay in Aries back in January and entered its Pre-Shadow Phase for this Rx Cycle in March. On July 7th at 6:55am EST, it formally Stations Retrograde at 4º25' of Aries. Broadly, these periods have a reputation for offering a reality check to fantasy and escapism by drawing anxiety, fear, and truth to the surface. A bit of a double-edged sword, right? We'll want to keep our eyes peeled for where we may be deluding ourselves or getting bamboozled by others. While we've had a taste of this experience in the realm of Aries last year, we haven't lived through one so sustained just yet. We'll want to take a look at the House(s) between 1º37' and 4º25' of Aries to narrow the focus of which dreams and deceptions are under review! Neptune will trace these degrees in Retrograde Motion from now until December 12th of this year.
Venus Enters Virgo
For our one and only planetary ingress of the month, Venus moves into Virgo on July 8th at 1:23pm EST. The planet of love and harmony enters the Mutable Earth Sign of the zodiac, which it hasn't transited since September 19th thru October 13th of 2025. With this ingress we are shifting where we're tending to our relationships, integrating creativity, and craving relaxation. Unfortunately, Venus doesn't particularly enjoy being in Virgo, as it's a Sign of its fall. In other words, it's dysfunctional because of the characteristics of the Venus clashing with the Virgoan tendencies for order, productivity, and mental stimulation. Until August 6th, when Venus moves into Libra, we are being asked to realign with our routines, beautify our processes and speech, an dial back the analysis, overthinking, and over-planning.
Mercury Cazimi in Cancer
It's our first Cazimi of the month! What are these exactly? A Cazimi marks the moment when a planet conjoins the Sun and it fully infused with life force energy in an opportunity for reset. These are especially days to look forward to when the happen during a planet's Retrograde Cycle, as is the case here, because they offer a reprieve from the disarray. Mercury Cazimi's are typically days where communication runs smooth, there's breaking news, revelations, and the perfect platform for making your voice heard in both public forums and tender, private conversations. In July 2026 we experience this bright spot in Cancer at 9:52pm EST on the 12th. With the Cardinal Water energy, we are more inclined to experience nostalgic revelations, have latent memories unlocked, receive psychic messages, and a boost in emotional intelligence. The last Mercury Cazimi was on May 14th in Taurus, while moving in direct motion. For the last one in Cancer, go back to July 1, 2023. Both dates offer a means of comparison a reference for us to project just how the light will shine on us!
Mercury Stations Direct in Cancer
Just eleven days after the Cazimi Day, and the Mercury Retrograde is Cancer is already over! Well, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves because we still have the Post-Shadow Period to contend with. The most challenging part of the Rx Cycle however is over as of July 23rd at 6:58pm EST. Now's the time to reflect back on our experience since both the start of the Retrograde on June 29th and Pre-Shadow on June 12th. Mercury will be retracing, in Direct Motion, 16º19' through 29º15' of Cancer for the third and final time. It will take until August 6th for that last run to be completed, and over the coming weeks we will tie up any loose ends in our thought processes, writing, technology, modes of transportation, and travel plans. To compare, the last Mercury Rx Post-Shadow was from March 20th to April 9th of 2025 between 8º29' and 22º34' of Pisces. Look to July 12th through 26th of 2020 for the last one in Cancer, transiting 5º29' to 14º45'.
Saturn Retrograde in Aries Begins
One Retrograde ends and another begins; it's just that time of year! The planet of maturity and discernment begins its careful trek backwards through Aries. And while you may be wondering if there's any overlap with Neptune's Retrograde, there won't be! Saturn has moved farther into the Cardinal Fire Sign after their tandem increases earlier this year because it transits at a much faster clip than the second outermost planet in our solar system. What Saturn brings to the conversation is a forceful call to refine and rebuild the structures, boundaries, and plans we've set in this area of our lives since April 20th. It was on that date that it entered the Pre-Shadow, while on July 26th at 3:56pm EST Saturn halts at 14º45' of Aries, with the mission to return to 7º56' of Aries. That will happen on December 10th (yes right around Neptune's timeline!), but more on that in the months to come. For a reference point on general Saturn Rx, and partial Aries influence, look back to July 13th to November 27th of last year.
Jupiter Cazimi in Leo
To close out the month, we've got an incredibly aboundant day! Jupiter, while not in Retrograde is now halfway there with its Cazimi Day taking place on July 29th. When Jupiter reaches 6º02' of Leo at 8:17am EST, it's time to unlock some fun and joy! Jupiter Cazimis are known for bringing about significant growth milestones, brightness and joy, and receiving wisdom. Our last one, which was in Cancer, took place on June 24, 2026. This go-around, the expansive nature of this astrological beacon of light is paired with the signatures of Leo. Therefore, we can expect to deservedly toot our own horn, get playful and lean into self-expression, and learn ways to temper our ego and craving for validation.
