It's.a month of ingresses (i.e., planets entering new astrological signs) that makes it a hot button time. Dare I say, it's up there with rivaling the energy of March – a historic month featuring an eclipse season, two retrogrades, and a generational ingress! In this post, I'm focusing on the planets changing signs, with one bonus transit, but keep in mind there are 22 other aspect-based transits occurring, the new and full moons, and of course the sun changing signs. Let's get into it...

Venus Enters Taurus

The first astrological event I'm spotlighting is Venus entering Taurus on June 6th at 12:43am EST. Taurus is one of the two zodiac signs it rules, which means the planet of love, beauty, artistry, and harmony is a happy camper! Venus has been transiting Pisces and Aries in both direct and retrograde motion since January 2nd of this year. This ingress will feel like the first real venture into a brand-new energy in six months! The archetypes of Taurus include: stubbornness, ease, luxury, and sensuality. During Venus' time in the sign of the bull (lasting until July 4th), we're encouraged to bask in the pleasure of slowing down, finding beauty, connecting to nature and our five senses, leaning into self-care, and paying close attention to our physical and financial assets. Looking at the House(s) where Taurus resides will further color where you're being asking to check in on your values and take a more laidback approach to life.

Mercury Enters Cancer & Leo

Switching gears, Mercury, which was the most active planet in May, is making an additional ingresses in June. To set the scene, this fastest-moving-planet embodies communication, speech, the mind, technology, and travel. Mercury enters Cancer on June 8th at 6:58pm EST, heightening our intuition and emotional intelligence through the cardinal water sign. We may also find ourselves focusing more on nostalgic memories, having sharper recall, and thinking about ancestral knowledge.

Mercury won't be in Cancer for too long as it ingresses into Leo on June 26th on 3:09pm EST! Leo represents a stark contrast from Cancer, with an eagerness to be center stage, performative, playful, and creative. When the archetypal ruler of our mind and communication enters Leo, we are inclined towards talking or thinking about ourselves, proudly sharing our viewpoint and skills, seeking recognition, compliments, and validation for an ego boost. This energy will carry us into July before Mercury begins its second retrograde of 2025 on July 18th – more on that next month though! Both of these ingresses offer us the opportunity to switch up our patterns, in general, and reprioritize the life areas captured in the Houses linked to Cancer and Leo.

Jupiter Enters Cancer

Another major ingress into Cancer is that of Jupiter, which only changes signs once per year! The planet of luck and expansion has been in Gemini since May 25, 2024. Now that it's entering Cancer on June 9th at 5:02pm EST, the collective will embark on a new era that lasts significantly longer than the others mentioned in this post. Similar to the Mercury ingress into Cancer the day prior, Jupiter's entrance shines a spotlight on intuition, emotions, and the heart. We can expect to feel more deeply and vastly, receive support in developing our innate intuitive abilities, and hopefully witness an expansion of caretaking and compassion into the society at large.

For context, the last time that Jupiter moved through Cancer was from June 2013 to June 2014. Mars Enters Virgo

Similar to Venus, Mars has been on quite the exhaustive journey over the past seven months. The planet of action and passion has been trudging its way between Cancer and Leo in direct and retrograde motion since November 4, 2024. The retrograde in Cancer was a particularly trying time for many (and I can attest to this personally!), while its transit through Leo brought egoic activations. Mars' entrance into Virgo on June 17th at 4:35pm EST will be a notable change of pace, literally, as it's ready to be productive in the mutable earth sign. We're incredibly motivated to "perfect" ourselves and others through personal development, tending to the Virgo area of our chart with an eye for details, efficiency, and organization. Just make sure not to burn yourself out!

Jupiter Cazimi in Cancer

Another thing on Jupiter before we wrap up! This massive planet experiences what's called a cazimi (i.e., in the heart of the sun) on June 24th at 11:17am EST. This type of transit involves any planet conjoining the sun, which in layperson's terms means being aligned at the same degree of the same zodiac sign. Cazimis bring a brief period of intense flow, illumination, and aha moments. They are supercharged days that mark the midpoint of a planet's retrograde and direct periods, respectively. In this case, Jupiter is direct and halfway on it's route to the next retrograde period in November.

Jupiter Cazimis are known for increased optimism, feelings of inspired action, and abundance. With this particular Jupiter Cazimi taking place at 3º of Cancer, we may experience a big dose of insights in the forms of intuition, ancestral knowledge, and global perspectives. Be cautious not to caretake others over yourself in excess or dwell in the past on this day!
