After a month of inspired reconnection to our values, boundaries, and purpose, June brings a whole new vibe. We're recalibrating our communication, harnessing nascent confidence, and bearing witness to vulnerabilities long buried so that we may walk a new path of healing. In this post, I'm sharing what you need to know about 5 ingresses and 2 retrogrades. There are 12 other aspect-related astrological events, plus the regular moon ingresses (every 2-3 days), and Sun entering Cancer. Gear up because it's time to connect to the cosmos of the June 2026 Astrology!
Mercury Enters Cancer
Before the first day of June comes to a close, we experience our first transit! The planet of communication and travel enters the Cardinal Water Sign on June 1st at 7:56pm EST. The last time we experienced this transit was June 8th through 26th of 2025, but this go-around will be a very different experience. I'll speak on it more in later on, but Mercury will have an extended stay in Cancer because it launches into its second retrograde of 2026 in less than two weeks out. By and large, with Mercury in this Sign, we can expect increased intuition, focus on caretaking and family, and interest in being a homebody. Keep reading to learn how the retrograde will color that experience. Note: Mercury doesn't enter Leo until August 9th!
Jupiter Retrograde Post-Shadow Ends
The planet of abundance has been in a state of compression and reflection since stationing Retrograde on November 11th. Jupiter is in its exaltation in Cancer, which means our growth in intuition and nurturance has been supercharged over the past year, aside from the natural subduing while in Rx motion. On June 6th at 11:21am EST, Jupiter exits its Post-Shadow phase at 25º09' Cancer. It had transited back and forth in 3 passes across 10º of the Sign of the crab between August 17th and June 6th, but now it'll move through the remaining 5º for the first time in 12 years! This is a great opportunity to check in on what you've expanded, learned about, or found lucky (even if not initially) since August. As a planet that loves knowledge, this insight supports the final launch point, so we can close out this annual cycle on a high note. Make sure to dream big, stretch your comfort zone, and magnify your compassion!
Mercury Pre-Shadow & Mercury Retrograde in Cancer
As I teased earlier, Mercury kicks off another Retrograde Period this month! The messenger planet enters the Pre-Shadow phase on June 12th at 8:53pm EST when it reaches 16º19' of Cancer. It is at this phase when a planet preparing to retrograde, but still moving in Direct Motion, begins to slow down. Throughout this time period, Mercury moves all the way to the final degree of Cancer, before halting and turning back for review. The foundation laid during the Pre-Shadow is fundamental to understanding how to approach peak of the Retrograde itself. We're likely to see a general slow down and emergence of tech, communication, and transportation issues. For context, the last Mercury Pre-Shadow Period occurred from February 11th to 26th of 2025 between 8º29' through 22º34' of Pisces. Look back to June 18th through July 12th of 2020 for the last one in Cancer, transiting 5º29' to 14º45' for the closest, but still not overlapping reference point.
When June 29th arrives, Mercury reaches 29º15' of Cancer and officially Stations Retrograde at 1:36pm EST. For this leg of the Retrograde Period, we can expect mental fogginess, miscommunication, travel and transportation challenges, and malfunctioning technologies. Check your Natal Chart for the full 16º19' through 29º15' range of Cancer to see the Houses (i.e., life areas) that Mercury is reviewing, redoing, reflecting, and ruminating on. This Retrograde will last until July 23rd, when Mercury Stations Direct. The last Mercury Rx Period was from February 26th to March 30th in Pisces, whereas the last one in Cancer was June 18th to July 12th of 2020.
Venus Enters Leo
For our second ingress of the month, Venus enters Leo on June 13th at 6:47am EST. When the planet of peace changes Signs, we're bringing ease and connection to a new area of our life. Over the following 4 weeks, until July 9th, Venus asks us to live more playfully! Consider asking yourself where you could release your grip, have more fun, and apply creativity. In Leo, Venus encourages blissful confidence, flirtation, personal style, in additional to buoyant loyalty. The last time this transit occurred was August 25th through September 19th of 2025; refer back to this time period and the corresponding life area(s).
Chiron Enters Taurus
If you've attended my Insight Timer classes or received the level 2 astrology reading from me, you know I love talking about Chiron. This asteroid, which orbits between Saturn and Uranus, captures our most innate and gnawing wounds. We spend decades picking at an healing it until we can finally master it's lessons and pass the wisdom on to others. Chiron has been crawling through Aries since 2018 – much longer than it's average transit time. However, that changes on June 19th at 5:17pm EST when we begin the preview in Taurus. With Chiron ingressing into the Fixed Earth Sign, vulnerabilities with finances, materialism, and self-esteem move to the forefront. The last Taurus preview period was from May 28, 1976 to March 28, 1977, followed by the full-time passage from November 29, 1983 to April 10, 1984. Overall, the time spent was less than 2 years; we've had Chiron in Aries for 8 years (and we're not done yet)! This Taurian preview will last until September 17th before Chiron returns to the Sign of the bull on April 14, 2027 for a 6-year transit. Historically, Chiron in Taurus is associated with the Great Depression, Irish Potato & Holodomor Famines, and Religious Nationalism.
Mars Enters Gemini
Get ready for a major change of pace! Mars exits the slow and steady Taurus to soar into the speedy Gemini. This planet represents our intrinsic motivations, therefore when it's in motion across the constellations, it acts as signal of our spark-of-the-moment. The last time this transit occurred was July 20th thru September 4th of 2024. June 28th at 3:30pm EST represents the pivot point for the collective to swing around and sprint into a buzzier and chattier era. We're not holding our verbal punches, as we're more inclined towards contrarianism. With Mars in the Mutable Air Sign, our agility and multitasking increases, in addition to flightiness. Be mindful of bursts of hastiness through August 11th and do tap into the wit that the Sign of the twins brings into the fold!
Jupiter Enters Leo
All of the other outer planets have been emphatically attention-grabbing throughout 2026, so it's time for Jupiter to get in the spotlight – literally! Jupiter joins the other benefic planet, Venus, for a bright and beautiful trip through Leo. The ingress happens on June 30th at 1:52am EST and begins a new chapter of highly personal growth. As the only Sun-ruled Sign in the Zodiac, Leo is hyper-focused on the ego, self-expression, and making bold statements. Jupiter is already enough of an expander without that energy at play, so get ready to take some massive swings over the next 12 months! The transition from Cardinal Water to Fixed Fire may feel drastic (or even a tad dramatic). With Jupiter in Leo, we can expect an abundance of creativity, radiant self-love and generosity, and eagerness to share happiness with others. It's not only about showiness, but learning a variety of skills and hobbies, as well as ways to check our big ego at the door. We're enlightened through play and living life with joy and laughter at its heart.
