Updated: Sep 21, 2025

After the brief reprieve of August, we are fully leaping into one of the busiest months astrologically of the year! Not only are there a series of ingresses, a retrograde kick-off, and multiple cazimis, but we've got the fall eclipse season! These events are happening over the backdrop of an ongoing Pluto Retrograde, Saturn Retrograde, Neptune Retrograde, and Chiron Retrograde. In this post, I'm sharing what you need to know about 5 ingresses, 2 retrogrades, 2 eclipses, 1 cazimi and 1 opposition transit. There are 14 other aspect-related astrological events, plus the regular moon ingresses (every 2-3 days), and Sun entering Libra. Buckle up because it's time to talk September 2025 astrology!

Read by Renee September 2025 Astrology Astro Weather this blog post covers Saturn Rx into Pisces, Mercury entering Virgo, Uranus Rx beginning, Pisces Eclipse, Mercury Cazimi, Mercury enters Libra, Mercury opposing Neptune, Venus enters Virgo, Virgo Eclipse, and Mars enters Scorpio

Saturn Retrograde Enters Pisces

The first astrological event I'm addressing for September is Saturn's ingress into Pisces, occurring on September 1st at 4:07am EST. I've discussed Saturn in Pisces multiple times over the last year including my reflections on the 2023 and 2024 Retrogrades in this sign, and the kick off for this 2025 round back in July. As someone with a natal Saturn in Pisces, it's of particular interest to me because its final pass through this sign in retrograde and then direct motion is the final leg of my first Saturn Return!

For the collective (if you have a different natal Saturn), this transit is an opportunity to close out on the lessons learned about setting boundaries, taking responsibility, and both time and resource management. Given that Pisces reflects creativity, empathy, naïveté, escapism, and intuition, Saturn will take a hard and serious final look at what's no longer serving us in this part of our chart. Note that Saturn will station direct on November 27th, but not exit this sign until February 13, 2026. For additional color around this ingress, consider that a retrograding Neptune at 1º of Aries is a heartbeat away and imparting a bit of its illusory energy into this final push through the mutable water sign.

Mercury Enters Virgo

Next up is Mercury entering Virgo on September 2nd at 9:23am EST. As the planet of communication, travel, the mind, and technology, Mercury rules Virgo (in addition to Gemini) and thrives in this sign. Virgo loves to hone in on creating order, self-improvement initiatives, and health and wellness practices. Mercury will transit this sign until September 18th; between now and then it will support mental acuity, analytical thinking and processing, focus on productivity and routines in the Virgo area(s) of your chart. For a look back to assist in looking forward to optimize the benefits of this transit, reflect on September 9th through 28th of 2024 for the last Mercury in Virgo transit.

Uranus Retrograde in Gemini

We're finally completing the outer planet retrograde crew with the Uranus Retrograde in Gemini (and eventually Taurus). This transit begins on September 6th at 12:51am EST when Uranus stations retrograde at 1º of Gemini. The planet of revolution and unexpected change has been in the sign of duality, teaching, studying, and all forms of communication since July 7, 2025. This first retrograde in Gemini offers an early check-in on the state of our freedoms, structures, individuation, and innovation as a society. On November 7th, Uranus will return back to Taurus (we'll discuss this more in a couple months!). In the meantime, for the Uranus Rx in Gemini portion, we can expect review of the innovations made to our communication (e.g., social media and AI), modes of transportation (esp. air), and the individualized Gemini area of our charts. Learn more about the history of Uranus in Gemini by checking out my July 2025 Astrology blog post.

Uranus Retrograde Reputation: dialing back major change for proper recalibration or even seeing reversal or pushback on innovations made.

Fall 2025 Eclipses

I won't be covering the Pisces and Virgo eclipses (taking place on 9/7 and 9/21) in-depth because we already spilled the cosmic tea on them in our Season 2 premiere of Synergy to Synastry (see transcript).

Check out my YouTube channel for the brief overviews of each eclipse and Natal Chart examples from my Insight Timer students. They each release(d) one day prior to the eclipses going exact.

I do want to share additional details on entire eclipse series we are in. In the table below, I've listed the dates, nodes, and signs (both in-cycle and out-of-cycle) for the Pisces-Virgo Eclipse Series. Note: there was an out-of-cycle Pisces eclipse on 9/17/24 (in place of an Aries North Node Eclipse), and the lunar nodes officially entered Pisces and Virgo on January 11, 2025. Use this table as your reference guide to forecast and apply to your eclipse reflection practice!

Ultimately, what we'll all want to keep in mind over the next year and a half is that there is a huge blurring of the energies and focus of the Pisces-Virgo Eclipse Series. This September is the only time where two in-cycle eclipses occur! This pattern continues for the Aquarius-Leo cycle, which ends up being "shorter" than normal because half of its series overlaps with the current one. More on that in future blog posts though...!

Pisces Eclipse Meditation & Journal Prompts

On 9/17/25 I led a guided meditation and journaling class during the energetic portal of the North Node Lunar Eclipse in Pisces going exact at 15º. Below is a mini synopsis of the visualization and mantra practice, followed by the prompts my students completed.

Visualize a pool of water, of any size and depth. Imagine and take in the details of a crystal appearing in the palm of your hand. Breathe light, life, energy, and the mantra "I am boundless" into it. Once fully infused, extend your arm, drop the crystal in the water, watch it disappear below the surface and follow the ripples outward until they disappear. Once the water is still, take multiple deep breaths and repeat this process for "I am expansive" and "I am compassionate." Then, conjure up the mantra in a different hand, applying "I am intuitively guided." Next, choose either hand for "I am open to receive." And finally, imagine a much bigger crystal the requires both hands to hold and infuse it with: "I am fluid, flexible, and flourishing."

After gently wiggling your toes and reanimating your body from base to crown, complete these journal prompts!

  1. Which mantras made me feel lit up?

  2. How can I embrace piscean traits (in general or in house area at 15º)?

  3. What am I feeling called towards?

Virgo Eclipse Meditation & Journal Prompts

On 9/21/25 I led a second meditation and journaling class during the eclipse portal for the South Node Solar Eclipse in Virgo at 29º. Below is a brief synopsis of the visualization and mantra practice, as well as the prompts my students reflected on.

Visualize that you're holding a big flower, of any type and color(s). Take in all characteristics of this flower and the environment your in, engaging all of your senses. Take 3 deep breaths where you're inhaling the scent of the flower. Select one petal of the flower and inhale and exhale repeatedly to infuse it with the mantra "I am healing." Once fully captured, inhale to grasp the petal and exhale to pull it from the flower. Then, inhale with the mantra and exhale to either watch the wind take it or drop the petal towards the earth, seeing it disappear.

Repeat this selection, breathwork and release process for the mantra I am grounded", for "I am trusting the process," and then "I am perfectly imperfect." Here, take a few extra deep breaths after the petal release before returning to the flower for the 5th petal "I am able to let go." After this release, pause to check in with your body to breathe into your feet, and anywhere else that's in contact with the earth or ground, both in this visualization and reality. Return to the flower for the final mantra: "I am relaxed, renewed, and right on time." Repeat this one 8 times through the petal selection and release process.

Look back to the flower, know that even without all of its petals it's okay (perfectly imperfect)!. Take some deep inhales and exhales with the final mantra. Then, with your biggest inhale and exhale, release the entire flower to return it to the earth. Take 3 deep breaths to ground and return back to the present moment.

After gently wiggling your toes and reanimating your body from base to crown, complete these journal prompts!

  1. Which mantras made me feel resistance?

  2. How can I heal low vibrational virgoan traits (in general or in house area at 29º)? These traits include perfectionism, over-exerting, overthinking, over-planning, etc.

  3. What am I feeling called to release?

Mercury Cazimi in Virgo

Unlike the last time that we talked about a Mercury Cazimi in July, Mercury is 1) in a different sign and 2) in direct motion! In case you need the refresher, a cazimi (or "in the heart of the Sun") is a conjunction of any planet with the Sun. Conjunctions happen when two celestial bodies reach the same degree of the same sign, or are 0º apart. Mercury Cazimis have reputation for being bright spots of communication, announcements, publishing, and offering aha moments.

This particular Mercury Cazimi day takes place on September 13th at 6:52am EST at 21º of Virgo. Harness the hours that follow for smooth communication, planning, launching or announcing something new! Mercury loves to be in Virgo anyway, so this Cazimi adds a supercharge to its efficiencies, best practices, and focus. Incorporate in the astrological House(s) to contextualize the area of life experiencing this boost!

Mercury Enters Libra & Opposes Neptune

Next up on the agenda for Mercury after its Cazimi in Virgo is its entrance into Libra! The energy of our communication, mindset, and focus will shift to the Venus-ruled, cardinal air sign on September 18th at 6:06am EST. Libra prioritizes balance, peace, justice, and relationships, which means that our perspective will be redirected to applying these principles of the Houses in this sign for 2.5 weeks. During this time, we are creating harmony, centering decision-making, and tending to our relationships in Libran areas of our chart. For a comparison, roll back your calendar to September 26th thru October 13th of 2024, which is when Mercury was last in Libra.

Twelve hours after this ingress, Mercury exactly opposes Neptune at 0º Aries at 6:01pm EST. Oppositions in astrology are transits where the two planets are fundamentally at odds with one another. Remember that Neptune carries the archetypes of dreams, intuition, illusion, and deception. Therefore, we can expect to experience significant disorientation, disruption of our thought patterns and communication, paranoia, and even spaciness. Fortunately for us, Mercury is such a fast-moving planet that we move out of this energetic fog quickly.

Venus Enters Virgo

With Libra occupied with Mercury, its ruler, Venus, will be back in the preceding sign of Virgo. The planet of love, harmony, pleasure, connection, beauty, and art first enters the mutable earth sign on September 19th at 8:39am EST. Virgo embodies perfectionism, methodical thinking, efficiency, health, and service. During the just over 3 weeks transiting this sign, Venus will help bring a bit of flow to the impacted life areas. The last time Venus moved through Virgo was October 8th through November 8th of 2023. Similar to that month-long window a couple years back, we can expect to see beautification of our processes, realignment with and within our routines, plus encouragement to ease up on wherever we may be overexerting. Don't forget to chart your chart for more specialized insights!

Mars Enters Scorpio

The last astrological event I've chosen to review is Mars entering Scorpio on September 22nd at 3:54am EST. Mars is the planet of action, motivation, drive, and passion. Mars is the traditional ruler of Scorpio (i.e., modern ruler is Pluto) and therefore it's perfectly content! The fixed water sign represents the archetypes of emotional depth, truth versus deception, psyche, strategy, and intuition. Mars will be in this sign until November 4th, bringing forward motion and a lack of filter to the sign known for deep dive investigations. The last time Mars transited the sign of the scorpion was from October 12th thru November 23rd of 2023. Refer back to this period for an idea of how this area of your chart may be activated over the coming month and a half. Overall, we can expect an abrupt shift in what we are motivated to start, change, or have progress in understanding, transforming, and healing fearlessly-the respective area(s) of your life.
