August 2025 Astrology Forecast

It has been a busy last few months astrologically, hasn't it? August should feel like a reprieve because it has many fewer transits; keep in mind though that we are gearing up for eclipse season in September! Don't forget that we have 3 active retrogrades (Saturn, Mercury, and Chiron), as well as planets that recently changed signs (Uranus into Gemini and Venus into Cancer). In this post, I'm sharing what you need to know about 2 ingresses, 1 retrograde, and 1 conjunction transit. There are 16 other aspect-related astrological events, plus the regular moon ingresses (every 2-3 days), New & Full Moons, and Sun entering Virgo. Settle in and let's talk about the August 2025 astrology!

Mars Enters Libra

The first astrological event I've chosen to review is Mars entering Libra on August 6th at 7:23pm EST. Mars is the planet of action, motivation, drive, and passion. Mars rules Aries and therefore is dysfunctional in its sister sign of Libra. The cardinal air sign represents the archetypes of balance, fairness, romance, and aesthetics. Mars will be in this sign until September 22nd, bringing aggression and directness to the sign known for people-pleasing and conflict-avoidance. The last time Mars transited the sign of the scales was from September 27th thru October 11th of 2023. Refer back to this period for an idea of how this area of your chart may be activated over the coming month and a half. Overall, we can expect an abrupt shift in what we are motivated to start, change, or have progress in especially striking a balance, enacting justice, and creating peace in the relationships in that area of your life.

Mercury Retrograde in Leo Ends

This astrological event is really an honorable mention, but who doesn't love to hear some great news?! Mercury stations direct in Leo on August 11th at 3:30am EST. I covered the Mercury Retrograde at length in my July 2025 Astrology post. Head over there or click the video link below to learn about the complete timeline. You can reflect on this Rx period on August 11th or wait until the 25th when it exits the shadow period. Keep in mind, this post-retrograde window is a wind down of the Rx energy, but there is still room for mishaps, miscommunication, and a lack of clarity.

Venus Conjoins Jupiter in Cancer

The remaining two astrological events I've chosen to review for this month both involve Venus. The planet of love, harmony, pease, and ease forms a conjunction with Jupiter on August 12th at 1:30am EST. When two planets conjoin, they are meeting at the same degree point of the same sign, in this case, 14º of Cancer. Venus and Jupiter are known in astrology as the two benefic planets, as they have strong associations of introducing uplifting energies into the signs they enter. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, luck, and wisdom. Combine those themes with Venus and we've got a high point of not only August, but the year!

Venus and Jupiter typically conjoin every 3 years and, in fact, their last conjunction happened on April 30, 2022 at 27º Pisces. The 2025 version of this cosmic meet-cute is taking place in the cardinal water sign, which reflects caretaking, intuition, emotions, memories and ancestry. On August 12th we can expect flow, connection, and even emotional satisfaction. It's a great time to lean into nurturing yourself and others, as well as finding the joy and silver linings of life!

Venus Enters Leo

Over a week after Venus meets up with Jupiter in Cancer, it flies through the sign of the crab and enters Leo. This ingress occurs on August 25th at 12:27 pm EST. Leo represents performance, self-expression, creativity, and the ego. Venus will be in this fixed fire sign until September 19th. For historical reference, Venus was last in the sign of the lion strictly in direct motion from July 27th thru August 21st of 2019, in case you want to reflect back! Venus notoriously retrograded in Leo through Summer 2023, which was a period of major celebrity breakups, Barbenheimer, and a surge in attention on women's sports. For this month ahead we can expect ease and a desire to bring peace, relaxation, and pleasure to the Leo area of your chart. Further, you may potentially experience increased confidence and a calling to no only get creative, but enjoy the process and be proud of yourself.
