In August, we sought to live better, with greater focus, and to rediscover play. This month, we're connecting to our gut, introspecting on lessons learned (esp. our growth, challenges, dealing with change), and engaging in bold self-expression. In this post, I'm sharing what you need to know about 4 ingresses and 3 retrogrades. There are 13 other aspect-related astrological events, plus the regular moon ingresses (every 2-3 days), and Sun entering Libra. No time like the present to connect to the cosmos of the September 2026 Astrology!

Mercury Enters Libra

While September takes a little time to warm up, wow does it pack a punch on the 10th! There are three transits that day, plus the New Moon in Virgo. First up is the messenger planet ingressing into Libra at 12:21am EST. Mercury moving through the Cardinal Air Sign over the next nearly-three weeks brings a new perspective. Broadly, we'll be focused significantly more on peace, fairness, and beauty. In addition, we will value our relationships and center decision-making as a more integral part of our day. The last time we lived in this type of mental flow was September 18th through October 6th of 2025, which may offer key guidance for how to harness the higher vibrational side of this Sign (rather than potential indecision and people-pleasing).

Venus Enters Scorpio

Less than four hours later, at 4:07am EST, Venus enters into Scorpio. In stark contrast to the Mercury ingress, the planet of love is dysfunctional (i.e., in detriment) in the Fixed Water Sign. The reason being is that Scorpio is an incredibly intense zodiac sign, and that lures Venus into the darkest depths of obsession and possessiveness. I'm always one for drawing on the positive as well, so some potentially supportive manifestations of this transit could include: desire for emotional and physical intimacy, intuitive grasp of the psyche, and an admiration for resilience. This transit persists for quite some time... Venus won't enter Sagittarius until 2027 because it will station Retrograde next month and begin retracing the first nine degrees of this Sign as well as the last seven of Libra. We're gonna have to get comfortable with being a little uncomfortable! Note: the last full Venus in Scorpio transit was November 6th through 30th of 2025.

Uranus Retrograde in Gemini Begins

Hitting pause on ingresses for the moment, we detour into some Retrograde updates! Uranus, the planet of surprises and revolution, Stations Retrograde every year. To place us in time, remember that last Rx Cycle ended in February, and the Pre-Shadow Period kicked off in May! On June 10th (yes, still!) at 2:27pm EST at 5º41' Gemini, Uranus begins its formal trip back through the early degrees of the Mutable Air Sign. In the grand scheme, Uranus Retrogrades have a reverberating reputation for reversing major collective change (this can be positive or negative, depending on where you stand), as well as triggering pushback on innovation. This Retrograde will continue through the end of 2026 and, actually, into February 8, 2027.

Jupiter Retrograde Pre-Shadow Begins

Jupiter prepare for its annual Retrograde less than one week later on June 16th at 1:03am EST. It's farther back in the Rx Cycle than Uranus because it merely entering the Pre-Shadow Period. These months ahead will lay the foundation for the area of life and degrees that will be retraced two additional times. The Pre-Shadow starts at 17º Leo, and Jupiter progresses forward to 27º01' of the Fixed Fire Sign through December 12th, at which point it will pivot and Station Retrograde officially. Over these 6 months we will seek both wisdom and growth in the Leo area(s) of our life – see my June overview. The closer we get to December though, the slower the expansion process becomes and the more we are asked to review what this chapter of our life really means, for both the present and future.

Chiron Retrograde Enters Aries

For the last Retrograde update of September, we return to the asteroid, Chiron! Alas, the preview period in Taurus comes to an end on September 17th at 9:54pm EST. With Chiron back in Aries, we find that identity crises, struggles with imbalanced masculine energy, and general feelings of volatility return to the forefront. We should be incredibly familiar with our personal wounds here: Chiron last transited this Sign from April 17, 2018 through September 25, 2018 and February 18, 2019 through June 19th of this year. For more on the historical associations, read by blog post from June. As we are still very much in reflection mode because of the Retrograde, consider physical exercise, self-acceptance affirmations, embracing independence, and asserting your needs. Chiron may be conducting a final remediation of this area of our life, but don't forget that it returns to Taurus on April 14, 2027 for a 6yr transit!

Mars Enters Leo

Enough of those retrogrades, right?! Back to our personal planet ingresses, we've got Mars moving into the Fixed Fire Sign on September 27th. At 10:49pm EST, the planet of aggression truly emboldens us! Mars in Leo typically signifies a tendency to increase boastfulness, enthusiasm to take initiative, and egocentric performances for attention. The last time this transit occurred was November 3rd of 2024 through January 6th of 2025 (including a Pre-Shadow & Retrograde) and then April 18th through June 17th of 2025 (including a Post-Shadow). While the retrograde colors that last venture, and drastically extended the timeline, it still offers some useful color. The current transit will run from now until November 25th!

Mercury Enters Scorpio

Mercury bookends September by ingressing into a second Sign: Scorpio. On September 30th at 7:45am EST, the planet of communication drastically shifts our focus. The hope here is that the co-presence with Venus will grant us greater clarity about what to make heads or tails of all we've embraced, regardless of how dysfunctional it's been. Mercury will inspire us to think more strategically, become fascinated with the psyche and intuition, plus revealing or even bending the truth. If you'd like a reference point, the previous Mercury in Scorpio transit took place between October 6th and 29th of last year.
