Jupiter in Gemini Versus Cancer

Across cultures and modalities there are a ton of New Years (e.g., January 1st, Lunar New Year, Rosh Hashanah, Astrological New Year with Aries Season, Profection Year, etc.). While Jupiter entering a new sign isn't a true new year, it does mark the beginning of a 12-month cycle! Further, Jupiter as a planetary body represents the archetypes of luck, wisdom, and expansion. Seeing where Jupiter is transiting tells us where we can expect to grow over the year ahead. In this post, I'm sharing my reflections on Jupiter's transit through Gemini as well as what we can expect for its journey through Cancer!

Jupiter in Gemini Overview

From May 25th 2024 to June 9th 2025, Jupiter moved through the mutable air sign. Its retrograde period ran from October 9, 2024 to February 4, 2025 from 21º back to 11º of Gemini. You can look at each of the three segments in your natal chart (0º to 11º, 11º to 21º, and 21º to 29º) for any planets or points that Jupiter crossed over (i.e., catalyzing expansion!). Jupiter in Gemini Self-Care & Gratitude Tracker

To demonstrate the impact of the annual Jupiter transit, I logged reflections weekly over the course of the 12 months and will share a summary of my takeaways! For my natal chart, Gemini resides in my 12th House of isolation, secrecy, and self-undoing. Any transit here stirs up processes and patterns of going inward, deep self-reflection, and taking necessary time for myself to scope things out. Add Jupiter in the mix and it's really emphasized!

The focus of my Jupiter in Gemini Tracker this past year was weekly self-care and gratitude. Each week, I wrote down something I did to care for myself as well as expressing gratitude for how that experience made me feel and what it offered me. This practice aligns with Jupiter in 12H Gemini because I'm writing and researching (Gemini-coded) ways to nurture and connect to myself (12H healing) while embracing an abundance mindset (Jupiter's bag!). I'm not going to transcribe 54 weeks of notes, but here are examples of some of the activities I chose with intention, or gravitated towards...

  • Yoga or Gentle Movement & Stretches

  • Foot Soak with Epsom Salt

  • Toe Separators

  • Gua Sha

  • Face Mask (clay, AHA) or Serum

  • Red Light Therapy

  • Massage

  • Pressure Point Self-Massage

  • Meditation and/or Breathwork

  • Body Oil or Lotion

  • Haircut

  • Dedicated Quiet Learning Time

There was an entire year's worth of gratitude (so nice right?), but here is a short list of patterns and stand-outs I appreciated upon reading the tracker from start to finish:

  • Sacred Pauses to Reset My Nervous System

  • Releasing Physical Tension

  • Feeling More Aligned & Lighter

  • Confidence Boost & Optimism

  • Learning New Things About Myself & My Body

  • Release

Jupiter in Gemini Reflections

When it comes to self-care and committing to myself through maintaining boundaries, for years I've walked around saying "I'm bad at committing to taking care of myself." As I got into spiritual work, I realized just how powerful our words are and how unproductive that was to resolving my challenges. Taking on a weekly self-care and gratitude tracker (to reinforce the small wins and validate the practices), was just the medicine I needed to help me on this next leg in of Jupiter in Cancer.

Looking back on the year of Jupiter in Gemini, I gradually transitioned from choosing single and basic activities to layering multiple and trying new tactics. Further, my gratitude reflections started by focusing on the immediate aftereffects and eventually became bigger picture recognition of the root causes of my challenges. For example, I've had years of jaw and shoulder issues and started going to monthly massages and building out an at-home practice to release the tension trained into my body from sitting at desks and working too much. I started to see the threads of mental over-stimulation from juggling multiple to do lists, constantly multitasking, and living in a state of hyper-vigilance.

By Week 37 (the week that Jupiter in Gemini stationed direct) my gratitude statement was: "I'm glad to have regular self-care. I'm not even doing [these activities] because of this log!" And in Week 43, I wrote that I was grateful to be "trusting myself to commit." By the end of the 54 weeks I'd reset my baseline to be significantly more proactive in preventative care and aware of exactly how I was going astray. I now can express how grateful I am for this entire process and to apply what I've learned in the Jupiter in Cancer transit.

Jupiter in Cancer Overview & Forecast

From June 9th 2025 to June 30th 2026, Jupiter moves through the cardinal water sign. Its retrograde period occurs between November 11, 2025 and March 10, 2026 from 25º back to 15º of Cancer. Zoom in on each of the three segments in your natal chart (0º to 15º, 15º to 25º, and 25º to 29º) for any planets or points that Jupiter will cross over (i.e., facilitating growth!). The last time that Jupiter transited Cancer was June 25, 2013 through July 16, 2014. Reflect back on the ways that you grew, received, experienced abundance, learned, and more! These patterns could repeat themselves, presenting in similar or brand-new ways in the Cancer part of your Natal Chart.

To contextualize with examples from my life, Cancer represents my 1st House of identity and physical appearance. It also contains my Rising Sign, which signifies my growth path in life. Jupiter moving through this area of life should feel like a pretty big deal! The last time Jupiter transited Cancer, I was in college, taking on multiple extracurriculars to push myself to finally shed my "shy, smart girl" persona, and cutting my hair short for the first time in years (it stayed shoulder-length or shorter until the 2020 pandemic). Obviously a lot more happened in that year, but I didn't have a journal, let alone a tracker back then!! Regardless, those big shifts sync perfectly with the 1H themes.

I can make some guesses about how I may grow or evolve in the year ahead, in addition to leaning in, if I'd like! We always have a choice. Log or don't log, reflect or don't reflect, be proactive or disengage. To embrace this transit (getting abundant juice for the squeeze!), I could uplevel my appearance with new style choices, expand titles for myself (e.g., how I identify internally or even introduce myself to others), or dedicate more time to experimenting with my intuitive gifts and emotions (esp. shaking loose boundaries to their depth, reach, and insights). There are so many possibilities! I can't wait to look back in July 2026 on the previous version of myself (right now) and grasp how I'm embodying a whole new sense of self...
