Synergy to Synastry: Soul Rising Book Club Chapters 20-23 (BONUS) Podcast Transcript
Welcome to the Soul Rising Book Club!
Renee: Back-to-Back Book Clubs.
Renee: We're back talking about Soul Rising for a second installment in a row.
Renee: Normally, I do these at the beginning or right around the end or between the miniseries.
Renee: But because we're doing a summer vacation in anticipation of the third and final culture, I'm doing two book clubs.
Renee: We're covering a lot of chapters within these episodes.
Renee: And that'll kind of jump start us as we go through the rest of the season and then being able to wrap up the book because honestly, we don't even really have that much left.
Renee: Today we're going to be covering chapters 20 through 23.
Renee's Writing Process for Chapter 20
Renee: Now the big one to note is my chapter is chapter .
Renee: I wanted to back up and describe what it was like actually working on this chapter, giving a little bit more context for that experience, which now feels like a very long time ago since I actually wrote this.
Renee: We were tasked with our brief, keep it within X amount of words, talk about your spiritual awakening.
Renee: If you want to put some details at the end about how people can contact you, that's factored into the word count.
Renee: In looking back, I know that I had a few blocks I put in my calendar to work on writing it.
Renee: I wrote an outline.
Renee: I then prepared a draft.
Renee: I gave it some time to sit.
Renee: Then I may have done two rounds of revisions, but I know at least the most recent round before I handed it off to the Divine Flow Team.
Renee: I was reading it out loud and trying to make it sound funny, make it sound like how I actually speak versus writing, which can get very formal very, very quickly, and especially for me, because I tend to write in a formal way.
Renee: I went through when I did this whole set of revisions, does it roll off the tongue well?
Renee: Because I also knew that we were going to do an audiobook later, so it needed to sound like me, and I was just reading it to myself out loud, and then I go, okay, let me change that wording because it doesn't roll off the tongue well, or how can I make this a little bit more playful, more of how I actually tell stories, where I have sidebars and little anecdotes and tangent and it comes back.
Renee: That definitely was captured when I was reading it back, it was so funny, but let's not get ahead of myself.
Renee: I put that version through where I tried to make it funny, I tried to make it sound more like how I actually speak.
Renee: They came back to me with revisions.
Renee: My memory was, it was very, very minor like a word here, a comma there, something like that.
Renee: Then there was a nice comment at the top saying that they really felt they could hear my voice.
Renee: That made me feel good.
Renee: I'm like, okay.
Renee: I think I made maybe a couple tiny tweaks, sent it back and then that's how it was pushed through.
Renee: For me as someone who has had perfectionist tendencies, this is something I specifically worked on.
Renee: I remember when I was in high school, I started learning this about myself, that if I was writing an essay, it didn't matter what class it was, I would sit there and I would revise, revise, revise, revise, revise.
Renee: I'd keep rereading it.
Renee: What if I find a typo?
Renee: What if I find...
Renee: I would do this ad nauseum and I had to start cutting myself off because it was too much.
Renee: I knew going in that I needed to give it space to breathe, which is why I put in intentional pauses of me working on it, coming back and looking at it again with fresh eyes in the right state of mind.
Renee: I felt like it did work out.
Renee: It has been over a year since I have actually read my chapter.
Renee: I did find that it was a little bit difficult not to go into editor mode because there would be certain word choices here and there.
Renee: I'm like, could I have picked a different word?
Renee: But if I take those little things out, I'm overall happy with the fact that it did come across as playful in tone, and I can hear my voice and I'm like, oh, that is how I speak.
Renee: That's how I talk and communicate and tell stories, which is what I was going for.
Renee: I do think that that was very effective.
Chapter 20: A Moonlit Path by Renee Precopio
Renee: How I've read the other people's chapters and I would find, a memory would crop up or get shot into some vision or something.
Renee: One of the memories again that I forgot because I'm talking about, for the actual spiritual awakening, if you will, when I started working with my intuition, that's , that's five years ago.
Renee: One of the experiments that I did was I got playing cards, and I remember sitting outside because it was the summer time, and I would sit there and just try to tune in.
Renee: Again, I hadn't really developed my intuition at all.
Renee: I had just started the Nuurvana program.
Renee: I had read about it online or what are some different things you could do to practice.
Renee: I would make it simple, like not what is this card, but is it a red card, is it a black card?
Renee: I would sit there and I'll go through the entire deck, and I would sort into what I got right and what I got wrong.
Renee: I might do that for a while, like, okay, I'm going to restart again.
Renee: Or I could say, I'm just looking for hearts, and then try to do that, and I'm trying to feel into a yes or a no.
Renee: Is this a heart?
Renee: And then seeing if I'm right.
Renee: I did want to add that in, that is not in the chapter, but that is actually what I was thinking of when I was writing what I did.
Renee: I wanted to acknowledge also the part about AI.
Renee: I had tucked that in there.
Renee: So far, I haven't heard anybody else mention this in their chapters.
Renee: I really was talking about quantum computers, but the whole AI conversation, I mean, it was around, but not to the extent that it is within the last two years.
Renee: So I was a little bit ahead there in bringing that up.
Renee: I was like, oh, it's kind of cool.
Renee: This is aging pretty well because it very easily could go awry.
Renee: But I was like, I still totally agree with what I said, which is toes down on the fact that AI and even quantum computing can't replace intuition.
Renee: Yes, could it predict X amount of outcomes that might happen?
Renee: Sure, but not all intuition is predictive in nature.
Renee: It's not all premonitions.
Renee: A quantum computer cannot be a medium, cannot connect to spirits and receive messages.
Renee: It's just not a thing they can do.
Renee: You can create chatbots and you could feed a bunch of information.
Renee: This is a whole ethics question.
Renee: But you could create, in theory, a whole profile.
Renee: And it's a bunch of text messages and letters and things about a certain person.
Renee: And it can present as if you are talking to them.
Renee: Tristan needs to get involved in that to make sure that maybe that doesn't happen because that's a whole other thing that could prevent people from being able to grieve.
Renee: But, point being, you're not actually connecting with their spirit.
Renee: You're just creating something that's the remnant of whatever data and information profile you could generate, which is not the same thing as connecting to their actual spirit out there right now.
Renee: I didn't go into all of the stuff that I just said, but that was what I was getting at.
Renee: Like, okay, you cannot replace this.
Renee: And so the fact that we can sit around and say, we're more powerful than these computers and wherever AI goes and whatever ends up happening is pretty cool.
Renee: And I still think that that is true.
Renee: Two years out from the point of writing this, even with the variables that have changed, to me, that stance is the same.
Renee: I just don't think that that's something that could logistically ever happen.
Renee: The next point that I wanted to raise, I mentioned a little bit earlier about my style of storytelling.
Renee: So, I've concluded that I am so Mercury in Pisces after reading this chapter.
Renee: Because I think what it really needs to do is reflect that my mind, my information processing, covers everything holistically.
Renee: Pisces is connected to everything.
Renee: There is a focus on people, on relationships.
Renee: I was conveying some creativity, a little bit of playfulness, the connection to my intuition and my relationship with that coming up throughout.
Renee: But also just the fact that I do this in my speech anyway, but you can see it in the chapter and I'm laughing, because of course I wrote it how I speak.
Renee: But I go off on a tangent, but the tangent was so intentional and then it's like, okay, well now this comes back and then I did connect all of the dots.
Renee: So, it wasn't just like a completely random tangent, why am I talking about this?
Renee: And then I had a nice bookend.
Renee: I was like, wow, I really like dotted those eyes and crossed those t's, because I went over and over and made sure that all of it was actually a web and connected to each other.
Final Reflections on Renee's Soul Rising Chapter
Renee: But it was actually pretty dense.
Renee: So even though, and I'm glad I made it very playful, I cover a lot in this chapter, especially after having read other chapters.
Renee: It varies from person to person, how much of their life and how many details and examples, and specific situations they are covering.
Renee: I definitely cover a lot in mine with all of my little sidebars and tangents and stories.
Renee: I think it encapsulates the essence of that well, and the fact that there is whimsy covering a lot of topics, works symbolically with that signature.
Renee: So I liked being able to see that in my writing because I've never framed it that way.
Renee: I feel like this is probably a great example of what a placement that we might think, Mercury isn't happy when it's there, it's in detriment and fall.
Renee: But I feel like it works out pretty well.
Renee: Not to be biased here, I really liked my chapter.
Renee: I thought it was really good.
Renee: Maybe it's just because I'm also someone where I can make a joke, and then I laugh at it because I think it's funny, or I'll watch back a home video or a text that I sent, years ago, and then I still laugh and I'm like, oh, that's funny.
Renee: So maybe some of it's just that.
Renee: But I have, it's not just me, it's not just I think I'm funny, so I laughed.
Renee: I have had people reach out to me and tell me that they read the chapter and they really appreciated the humor in it, and that it did sound like me.
Renee: So I know that it's representative of the people that do know me.
Renee: But yeah, I really liked it.
Renee: I was proud of myself, that's really how I felt of, wow, this is good, except for the parts where I'm nitpicking.
Renee: I'm like, could I have chosen a different word here or there?
Renee: If I take that off the table, I really enjoyed this chapter.
Renee: Of course, the nightmare scenario would have been, I'm reading it back going, this age terribly and it's only been a couple of years, and I don't like this at all, and I'm really uncomfortable reading it, but I didn't feel that way, so that's a huge, huge positive.
Renee: While reading this chapter, I had a few questions come through to ask myself, what are other ways that my childhood signaled my path?
Renee: I guess I would say the piece that's missing, that I didn't talk about, is the creative piece, which I was very interested in as a kid.
Renee: The first job I ever thought I was going to have when I grew up was, I'm going to be an artist, and some of that is because my mom went to art school, and she's a graphic designer, and she's had her own business my entire life.
Renee: But I always enjoyed art class, and I remember thinking that I wanted to do something that was creative, and of course, this gets back to the Mercury and Pisces thing.
Renee: It's like I'm wanting to think and process in that visual creative, out of the box way, which I am still very much that type of a person.
Renee: But yeah, I have found a way no matter what I'm doing, even for argument's sake, with this podcast, did I ever think I was going to be doing this?
Renee: No, because podcasts didn't exist when I was younger.
Renee: However, I had several points where like something that I tend to have flashbacks about in cringe, is in middle school, like my friend and I had this idea to do like this mini like video short series because they would have like a daily TV show or like programming and they would put the news and the weather and like segments and stuff on it.
Renee: And so we had this idea to do that.
Renee: And we recorded one and the premise was going to be that we were going to, I don't know, people would vote and then like have a teacher do something.
Renee: I don't even know what it was, which like now I think about it and go, I can't believe we came up with that.
Renee: Like that just, it doesn't even sound like something I would think of doing now.
Renee: I was sitting in homeroom going, oh, I didn't think about the fact that I'm going to have to be in homeroom and other people are going to be there and watching this because I didn't really speak up in school and I didn't want to be seen for kind of a lot of reasons.
Renee: Stemming back to when I was a kid and when I was younger, and that's a whole other thing to unpack.
Renee: I think some of it I have brought up a bit in the podcast over the last few years, but I was then uncomfortable with then seeing that and going, okay, well, I don't want to watch myself or see myself, and what will people say, and what if it's really embarrassing?
Renee: So we never made one.
Renee: And then I had, I don't even know who it was, but I remember like a few weeks later, somebody coming up to me and saying, what happened to the series?
Renee: They wanted to see it.
Renee: So they were in a different homeroom and they saw it and they thought it was a really good idea.
Renee: And we just never ended up going back and doing it because I was like, okay, I'm pulling the plug on this.
Renee: I don't want anybody looking at me.
Renee: And so I think about that now.
Renee: I was following an inspiration.
Renee: This was something that we thought was fun, that would be cool that we could do.
Renee: And now look at what I am doing.
Renee: I am recording video for the podcast, for my business, I have my YouTube channel.
Renee: I am teaching courses in live classes and recording online.
Renee: So I'm making myself very visible in a lot of ways, producing segments.
Renee: And so I ended up kind of doing the same thing.
Renee: Obviously, it wasn't involving teachers, but then I became the teacher.
Renee: So yeah, that's the other example that is coming to mind now of something that I felt interested in and called the do, and I didn't really know why.
Renee: But then the trappings of everything else and the work that I needed to, things I needed to heal prevented me from being able to take that kind of a step.
Renee: And just think about how many years I was middle school to now.
Renee: I mean, what's the math on that?
Renee: Like years.
Renee: I had to do a lot of work in years to be in a position to even do what I am doing right now.
Renee: But clearly, I was meant to do something like this and meant to be visible in whatever capacity because I still wound up here anyway.
Renee: On that note, I wanted to give myself a progress report.
Renee: I wrote down, in the aftermath of shedding, you can harness that energy and transform it into an up level.
Renee: If you understand the assignment given by the universe, my assignments were abundantly clear.
Renee: So I want to see how I've done, how I'm still doing now that it's a few years out.
Renee: Take up space, use my voice and share my truth, be visibly authentic, no more hiding, and wholeheartedly believe in myself.
Renee: Okay, so I did just talk about some of that.
Renee: Being more visible, I've been working on the authenticity, like how I am showing up, even with how I was trying to write this chapter, was making sure I wasn't filtering myself, that it really sounded and presented like me.
Renee: Taking up digital space and how I am spending my time, and the things that I'm working on, and what I am doing.
Renee: Using my voice, I mean, that's coming through teaching, sharing my truth, even just in conversations like this, I am more vulnerable in my storytelling through either literal stories like this, or within the podcast, in my classes.
Renee: So I feel like I've kind of crushed.
Renee: Wholeheartedly believe in myself.
Renee: That's the last one, and that's probably the one where I think I wholeheartedly believe in myself, but we can have self-limiting beliefs that just pop in.
Renee: So that's probably the one where what's coming in my head now is you're at percent.
Renee: So I have another 20% to go, where apparently I am holding myself back in different ways, which I can understand and recognize.
Renee: I've done a pretty good job in growing and meeting the assignments in just a handful of years.
Self-Care Through Your Moon Sign Workshop
Renee: Last thing on my stuff before I start talking about the other authors, my workshop.
Renee: I went back and I watched it on two times speed as always.
Renee: I was like, why is this so cute?
Renee: I love this.
Renee: Again, it's like I was there.
Renee: I recorded, I was painstakingly editing this workshop to get it down because I was like, this workshop is too long and I had to trim and trim and trim to get it to be, I think it was like maybe minutes or something like that.
Renee: But I really loved how it came out.
Renee: This was another situation where I was like, I am proud, this is good work.
Renee: If you have the book, you have access to the launch workshop so you can access it in there.
Renee: If not, and if as an example, you're getting the book through the library or you don't have access to those workshops, you can also download it on my website.
Renee: I do have it in my shop if you want to watch it.
Renee: For context, my workshop is Self Care Through Your Moon Sign.
Renee: Yeah, I just sat and I watched the whole thing.
Renee: It is actually nice for me to be a student of my own work.
Renee: Also, it really made me laugh because, again, just exhibit 5000 of being Type A.
Renee: The fact that I created this detailed visual, again, aesthetically pleasing PowerPoint.
Renee: So many of the people did not create a PowerPoint.
Renee: I am not the only one.
Renee: There are a few other people who did it and I felt like kindred spirits.
Renee: Thank you for having me not be the only one creating a PowerPoint and yet another indicator of how I have chosen to really approach this journey.
Renee: I still treat a lot of it as very academic and methodical and trying to ground and have it feel really practical for myself but also for the people that I am teaching and providing readings for.
Chapter 21: 10:50PM by Claire Solomon
Renee: Chapter 21 was written by Claire and I do want to add a trigger warning here for this chapter; death is discussed.
Renee: Keep that in mind as you are reading ahead.
Renee: Claire had discovered astrology at 14 years old.
Renee: I think I probably had something similar as like maybe middle school to high school.
Renee: I had a period of time where I was just looking up the Aries horoscope.
Renee: But then I paused it and I didn't really look into it until I got into more of the Wu era with the actual spiritual awakening.
Renee: Then I started legitimately studying it.
Renee: She was someone who for her workshop, she created a PowerPoint and I said, yes, Queen.
Renee: She was really speaking to her approach in a very similar way to how I am.
Renee: So I really appreciated that we came back to back and felt similar to each other in our vision, our approach and our style and some of the subject matter.
Renee: One theme that Claire talked about during her chapter, was this idea that a spiritual awakening can feel a little lonely as if you are by yourself.
Renee: And she wrote in her chapter, feeling alone while simultaneously surrounded by sleeping people.
Renee: This to me created a bit of a parallel with Ashley's chapter in the last section when discussing the corporate versus spiritual world.
Renee: So it's like if you have had your spiritual awakening, you go into corporate, all of a sudden you're looking around, like, what are these people doing?
Renee: I very much felt that way.
Renee: Even just in the years of being removed and talking to my friends who were still in their corporate jobs.
Renee: I'm like, well, why is your company doing that?
Renee: Just looking at things in a totally different perspective.
Renee: When you take the work piece out, just as an individual, all of a sudden you're operating a bit of a different way or approaching things differently.
Renee: And you do start to look around and you're questioning more things in a way that's positive because you're like, hey, well, why can't we all be connected and free and grounded and happy and creative and authentic in our expression?
Renee: Why do we have all of these structures and things in place that are preventing us from doing that?
Renee: Something that was also really different and interesting that Claire mentioned was her spiritual awakening, really it's her reactivation, was tied to childbirth.
Renee: And I'm like, wow, that's really cool.
Renee: It's a major life event.
Renee: It's something that became a catalyst.
Renee: So for some people, it's you lost a job, you hit rock bottom, whatever it is, but becoming a parent, it's the same in that it becomes this before versus after.
Renee: It's a huge, huge milestone in turn.
Renee: When I was reading Claire's chapter, I actually cried while reading it.
Renee: I got to the part where she just mentioned in passing, and then she started talking about it more in depth.
Renee: But all I read was the first line toward the top of the page, mentioning her dad having dementia.
Renee: I just was thinking about my grandmother, and I shot into this whole scenario of what's that going to be like at the point that I don't have any more grandparents.
Renee: I have no one to introduce a partner to, and how these people who have been so important, I'm not going to start crying again, these people have been so important in my life and shaping me as a person, are then not going to be there, and that they're only going to live through the stories that I am telling, my memories of being with them.
Renee: But how it's such a gift to then have the intuition that I have, where I can still connect with them, like my granddad who I've spoken about, who had passed right before we started the podcast as one of the catalysts.
Renee: The fact that I can have dreams and he can come to see me, or I can receive messages or feel protection from him.
Renee: And knowing that my other grandparents and my nana are there too.
Renee: Yeah.
Renee: So this is what happened when I was reading Claire's chapter.
Renee: I just got to that page and I was like, wow.
Renee: Again, we tend to not think about that.
Renee: Let's get back to my quantum computer thing I talked about for my chapter.
Renee: The fact that we can do that is so amazing.
Renee: And we can do that for ourselves, but we can do that for other people.
Renee: I was reading this section and I was like, this is so sweet and sad.
Renee: And this idea has come up in some other chapters as well of people who had loved ones that were passing and then at the same time they were developing their mediumship abilities.
Renee: And the same applies to them.
Renee: This specific example just happened to strike a chord in a very, very specific way for me.
Renee: So I just got more emotional slash emotional period when I hadn't for the other chapters.
Renee: It's a necessary conversation to have something for me to continue processing because this is ongoing and this is thinking of a future rather than something that I have already dealt with, an experience that is in progress, but that thing I'm imagining or seeing for myself is not of the present moment.
Renee: So to switch gears from crying, I wanted to go into an entire side lesson.
Gene Keys: History & Sequences
Renee: She mentioned in passing Gene Keys and I went, here is my opening.
Renee: I have, I can't tell you how many times, kicked this reminder in my phone for months and months and months to look into my Gene Key chart in more detail.
Renee: I do want to explain first and upfront, and I didn't even do it comprehensively for myself.
Renee: I just looked at a few things which I will talk about in a moment.
Renee: To give you some historical context, this is yet another tool that I would say is pretty comparable to human design in some ways.
Renee: It was initially developed in 1987 by a teacher, mystic and poet, Richard Rudd.
Renee: The chart itself looks like a web of some different spheres and has numbers on them.
Renee: Of the Gene Keys, there are four.
Renee: The first is contemplation.
Renee: It's about accountability and growth.
Renee: The second is inquiry, understanding of the self.
Renee: The third is gentleness, being kind to yourself and to others.
Renee: The fourth is patience, that's compassion and curiosity for the process.
Renee: Also in this methodology, there are three sequences.
Renee: It's the different lines and the paths and how they're connected to each other.
Renee: Each are representing different characteristics.
Renee: So you pull certain sequences together for additional layers of interpretation.
Renee's Gene Key Sequences
Renee: I'm going to be going over one of them for myself, just to give you an example and jumpstart that conversation.
Renee: In case you're interested and want to look further, as I will also be looking further.
Renee: Of the three sequences, there's activation, which is looking at purpose, Venus, which is heart opening, and then the Pearl Sequence, which is about prosperity, so money, wealth, finances.
Renee: For a very, very, very, very, very simple interpretation of my activation sequence, this is if you're looking at the chart, it's the top, the middle right, the middle left, and then the bottom.
Renee: So it kind of makes this almost looks like a Harry Potter lightning bolt shape.
Renee: The first one represents your life's work.
Renee: The second one is your evolution.
Renee: In other words, what are you learning?
Renee: The third is radiance, something we've talked about in some previous chapters, actually, this idea of radiance.
Renee: It's what actually keeps you healthy in the lens of Gene Keys.
Renee: And then the fourth one is purpose.
Renee: It's what fulfills you.
Renee: I will include some links in the show notes if you want to look this up.
Renee: And feel free to message me about it in chat so we can learn about this tool together.
Renee: For my life's work, I had Gene Key 17, line 3.
Renee: That means that I have a hyperlogical brain that looks for flaws or comparison.
Renee: I have a holistic vision, open-minded, and I track recurring patterns and find those points of interconnection.
Renee: There is a gift of omniscience, opening the third eye in having that activation.
Renee: 10 out of 10 currently spot on.
Renee: And the line indicator specifically, this is called the changer line, where I thrive in diversity, creativity, adaptability, and growth.
Renee: So being able to move and adjust, I've talked about this actually a lot on this podcast.
Renee: And because I have such a huge mental capacity, quote, the first thing you have to do is free your mind from the responsibility of running your life.
Renee: This is exactly the issue I have been talking about all season in my life updates.
Renee: In these episodes, talking about work-life balance, that if I am constantly in mental mode and planning and pulling things together, how does this work and how does this function as someone who also, according to the Gene Keys, is highly organized and destined to be of service to a greater good.
Renee: It's like, okay, so I'm doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing on the life's work front, but it is giving me some guidance of where I need to check myself.
Renee: One of them being if I am constantly in operational running things mode, I will fall out of alignment, which I know 100% to be true.
Renee: For my evolution, I have Gene Key 18, line 3.
Renee: This means I'm instinctually sensitive to imperfections.
Renee: Again, a little bit of overlap and I'm sensing patterns, I'm sensing flaws, I'm looking for improvement.
Renee: This can lead to a sense of inferiority, like imposter syndrome, or appeasement to, or on the opposite side, challenging of authority, so it can go either way, high-low vibration.
Renee: Having high integrity of the mind and body, and the gift is perfection.
Renee: In other words, making the world a better place by aligning it with love.
Renee: Cute.
Renee: And for the line 3, this is energy and experience, where I'm fueled by the present moment.
Renee: And there are pros and cons here, because that could mean if I am so in the present, I could be overtaken by the fear of failure or wanting to avoid whatever that issue is or specifically emotional overwhelm.
Renee: And a quick quote here is, relationships are your great teacher.
Renee: It's important here for me to lower expectations that I have of others because I have a high standard.
Renee: I'm trying to make myself better.
Renee: I'm trying to make things better.
Renee: This is incredibly Virgo coded, everything about this.
Renee: And in doing that, and not, this is the advice basically, to not live my life in having everyone else meet that standard, preventing me from getting disappointed whenever people, and I do this all the time, I'm like, why can't people just communicate more effectively?
Renee: Why don't people have more common sense?
Renee: If I get so hung up on that, one that becomes just a negative spiral, but it means I start taking things personally.
Renee: Well, are they communicating?
Renee: Are they doing it better with other people?
Renee: Do they have something against me?
Renee: And then all of a sudden, you're taking it into this other realm.
Renee: That is just straight up not true.
Renee: For Radiance, I have the Gene Key 58 with Line 5.
Renee: And this is dissatisfaction or restlessness due to the desire to improve reality or find rest in the present.
Renee: As you can see, we're having a continual pattern.
Renee: And it might not be the case for you, but I'm having a lot of repetitions.
Renee: It's very strong, still feels very Virgo.
Renee: Finding rest in the present.
Renee: It's like I could feel restless, meaning I was, this is also Aries.
Renee: I need to go do something.
Renee: I need to do something.
Renee: I have to fix stuff.
Renee: I have to improve things.
Renee: It's like blending the two of them together.
Renee: And it's mani-gen.
Renee: If I don't feel like I have plates spinning, I'm not activated, I'm not doing something.
Renee: It's like this productivity idea I talked about with Ashley's chapter as well.
Renee: It's like, okay, if I can't be in production mode all the time.
Renee: Join creativity without the need for approval.
Renee: The gift of bliss through experiencing a range of emotions, slowing the mind and connecting to aliveness.
Renee: The five line is the impact line, where I'm a natural magnetic leader who seeks practical change.
Renee: Again, strong theme here.
Renee: Activity is key and quote, it doesn't matter if you cannot switch off your motor.
Renee: Because of the fact that I'm propelled by change, joy and service.
Renee: So not being down on myself if I am having trouble turning things off.
Renee: I'm never supposed to be fully in the off position, but I need to still allow for rest, is just finding that happy medium.
Renee: Lastly, for purpose, I have Gene Key 52 with line 5.
Renee: This one really hit close to home.
Renee: It specifically was talking about the fact that you might hold your breath as a stress response.
Renee: I catch myself doing this all the time.
Renee: I have had multiple conversations with people about this.
Renee: I definitely do this, and I have been getting a little bit better about pausing if I'm feeling stressed and just trying to do some big deep breaths to activate my parasympathetic system and all of that regulation.
Renee: And ultimately, this key was talking about having restraint through patience, understanding the natural cycles, and the value of having frequent pauses and breath work.
Renee: And I'm like, you are absolutely speaking my language.
Renee: It seems like for the purpose side, this is really what I would think like radiant should be, which is the healing.
Renee: It seems like a lot of this is what will help my health, but purpose is supposed to be what will fulfill you.
Renee: So how I can actually be fulfilled is by filling myself with breath, not holding my breath, allowing myself to pause or have sacred pauses, finding stillness by recognizing impermanence.
Renee: This too shall pass and because it passes, you get freed from having to do all the time or having to fill with the productivity because even then whatever I produce might not last and that can be okay.
Renee: For the line, we have the voice line.
Renee: This is where charisma must be shared to bring clarity to others.
Renee: Obviously, I got to talk to people.
Renee: Now, I can be very speedy even if I sometimes present as slow, which I thought was interesting.
Renee: I don't think to anyone I present as slow.
Renee: So I wasn't sure about that piece.
Renee: And lastly, I have a quote, time is also absolutely relative to how much enjoyment you are having.
Renee: In other words, can't get swallowed by worries because of the hectic world.
Renee: I just have to trust in my own destiny and my magic, my gifts, my abilities, and connecting to joy.
Renee: Please do let me know if you're interested in having more of a deep dive on this topic.
Renee: This was cool for me to have that little side venture and understand this a little bit more.
Final Thoughts on Claire's Chapter & Moon Magic Workshop
Renee: And I wanted to read, just to wrap up things with Claire, this quote, I was never alone.
Renee: I just hadn't found the other people awake at the sleepover yet.
Renee: Really cute.
Renee: Again, I mentioned this, I had a bookend in mind and I loved how she had this bookend in hers.
Renee: Really, really nice.
Renee: In the podcast interview, she was speaking about how when she started doing the Akashic Records work that she wasn't drained by them.
Renee: And I think this is a really good example of when you're in energetic alignment, when you're doing something that follows your cadence, follows how you're supposed to operate, where you're supposed to be going in your purpose, that it won't drain you, it will actually fill you up.
Renee: And I do find that when I have readings as well.
Renee: I'll feel excited in a better mood after I do the readings for people.
Renee: And I mentioned before she did a workshop.
Renee: This was moon phase magic.
Renee: In other words, planning a seed of manifestation at the new moon and then talking about the seven other moon phases after that and how you can follow that intention all the way through from start to finish over the course of the month.
Renee: And then going into the six months if we're really doing a new moon to full moon situation.
Renee: So this was nice for me.
Renee: One, as I mentioned before, she did a PowerPoint, so I was like yay, not just me.
Renee: In my astrology readings, I do tell people what moon phase they were born under.
Renee: So she had a little sidebar where she talked about that.
Renee: And something that I'm doing now is for my calendar, I am adding additional moons in.
Renee: So I had just recently written content on those quarter moons.
Renee: So it was nice hearing her explaining it.
Renee: I'm like, okay, cool, my definitions and how I was approaching it lines up with what she has.
Renee: I'm like, great, we're on the same page in how she was defining everything.
Renee: And according to her definitions, the moon I was born under makes me a revolved refiner, meaning that I seek improvement by editing and elevating things and I'm very detail oriented.
Renee: As you can see, this is a constant pattern.
Renee: Every time you look anything up, it reads as so Virgo-coded, sometimes Aries-coded, periodically Cancer-coded.
Renee: It's just like, I can't escape it anywhere.
Renee: Everything about every system always says that I have these Virgo tendencies, that I am organized, that I am detail oriented, that I am analytical, that I am problem solving.
Renee: It just makes me really just chuckle.
Chapter 22: From Upside Down to Right Way Up by Jan Denham
Renee: Chapter 22 was written by Jan.
Renee: Another trigger warning here for death.
Renee: Just keep that in mind as you are reading.
Renee: To get right into it.
Renee: Oh my goodness.
Renee: I am so glad that Jan is okay because she had this blackout scenario while she was driving and the fact that she is like with us and thriving and oh my gosh, just watching the workshop, so sweet, like such a warm, nurturing, maternal energy.
Renee: I was like, this is so relaxing.
Renee: But I am so glad that she is okay because that was really scary.
Renee: Reading about that and hearing what happened.
Renee: As an interesting parallel, she talked about sleep as a metaphor, which Claire had just done in her chapter.
Renee: We had a little bit of a connection between those two neighboring chapters.
Renee: Jan also mentioned this mind-body-spirit alarm system.
Renee: This idea has come up in multiple other chapters throughout the book.
Renee: If something is presented in one part of your body, it may be because your mind isn't being tended to, your spirit isn't being tended to, and they are all activating each other.
Renee: Something comes up if one of those three is out of balance.
Renee: In the podcast, she talked a lot about this lesson of slowing down.
Renee: I have discussed this.
Renee: I don't even know how many times throughout this season.
Renee: I won't reiterate again.
Renee: For her workshop, she did a meditation, which, wow, was this a really great reset.
Renee: And it goes back to what I just mentioned before.
Renee: It's probably one of the main things that I have learned in .
Renee: I know breath work is important.
Renee: But now that I've started just peppering it in, I don't even have a steady practice, but I have more mindfulness to intentionally use breath work.
Renee: And I have found it to be so incredibly effective when I am doing it.
Renee: Like I really do need to run by my breath.
Renee: I know we all do.
Renee: But like, for me and my reset, it's really makes a huge impact.
Renee: So what she was having us do is taking what I'll call is like really forceful breaths.
Renee: So you're focusing on the push and pull, expansion and contraction of your stomach diaphragm as you are breathing.
Renee: And within the first one to two minutes of this, I started yawning.
Renee: I had had a busy day, so my mind was really activated and it didn't even take me that long.
Renee: And all of a sudden, I really started to relax.
Renee: If you're someone who is as up here as I am, even just doing that, really intentionally focus on the mechanics as you're taking the breath, pushing, pulling, inhale, exhale, you may find that you have the same exact thing.
Renee: And it was such a restorative reset, like I really needed that to just flush some things out and then be able to keep going, but also to start me in winding down my day.
Chapter 23: The Night I Found My True Self by Angel Minuto
Renee: Lastly, we have Chapter 23, written by Angel.
Renee: Content warning here for substance abuse.
Renee: Angel talked about how your higher self can be a guide to, quote, do things I long to do but was afraid of doing.
Renee: Angel discusses parts work, which I was picking up on during the chapter, and then she was explaining what she does at the end, and I went, oh, she's an IFS therapist.
Renee: No wonder this is why she's talking about this.
Renee: The fact that we can say our highest self is a part of us.
Renee: Our imposter syndrome or perfectionism or people pleasing, that is a part.
Renee: Our anxiety is a part, our fears.
Renee: So we can categorize some of that in versions of ourselves, or what we were taught by certain people, like conditioning.
Renee: That's really what a lot of this work is about, is the deprogramming, identifying what is coming up, that's acting as interference.
Renee: It's preventing that higher self from being heard and seen, because the higher self carries the truth, it carries the wisdom, but it's quiet, it's a whisper.
Renee: Anxiety is a scream, intuition is a whisper.
Renee: Something to hopefully make people feel better about this journey is that, and I believe this is true, I found it in my experience as well, we don't have to focus on trying to heal all of those parts at once.
Renee: Healing any one thing, making an improvement in one area of your life, has a ripple effect, period.
Renee: It's going to shift you energetically, how you walk through the space.
Renee: Like for me, I'll give the example, you know, between book clubs here, recording the book clubs, I should say, I got a haircut.
Renee: Okay, so now I'm going to walk through the world just that much differently, because I cut five inches off of my hair.
Renee: And maybe that doesn't seem like a huge change, but maybe for someone else, it's I've started going to the gym more.
Renee: I go to the gym once a week.
Renee: Well, eventually, they continue doing that.
Renee: It's not just about the outcome, it's about what is that doing about how they show up, how they feel about themselves, how they are then adding other habits, backing other things in their routine, other transformations that they are making, other opportunities for growth.
Renee: And we can view that internally with these different parts, these different pieces of ourselves, our soul, our ways of operating.
Renee: And further, sometimes the healing is just letting go and how freeing that can be.
Renee: This is another concept that I have talked about, like what is freedom?
Renee: Well, maybe freedom is just letting go, having it be off your plate, having it be a thing that you don't worry about or you don't try to control or that it doesn't carry the same weight.
Renee: It's not something that is hanging over you.
Renee: I did do a little bit of research on the parts work just because I did recently do actually, a family constellation with Christian who we had on the podcast in season two.
Renee: She has been, in addition to the quantum work, working on her certification in a very similar model.
Renee: You're looking at the parts, but it's specifically related to family relationships and like that.
Renee: I had done a session with her recently within the last few weeks of recording this.
Renee: Something that I had recognized is that a lot of what I'm being propelled by is the not doing enough.
Renee: This goes back to what we were talking about with the Gene Keys.
Renee: It's this meeting a standard of expectation.
Renee: What is being stable mean?
Renee: What is being steady or good mean?
Renee: What's in my head, how I am living up here, then has the ripple effect out everywhere else.
Renee: If it's just the simple work of recalibrating how I'm framing and where those quote parts of myself might be just running a narrative, when you talk about programming and deprogramming, it's like a narrative is running, a script is running in the background.
Renee: This is the thing you do.
Renee: This is how you operate and it's a mindfulness of identifying it, catching it, disrupting it, making it be something different, a different code that runs in the background.
Renee: It shifts fundamentally how you're going to operate.
Renee: For Angel's Workshop, this was a sacred pause and it really was a mix of meditation and then parts work questions.
Renee: To recap a few of the questions that she had asked, the first one was which part feels loud and the visual that I thought was a girl with pig tails trying to make a sandcastle that kept getting stomped on, that kept getting washed away.
Renee: She had to keep rebuilding it and there was this tired resilience and it's adjacent to perfectionism, but I was finding that it was actually different.
Renee: It goes back to what I talked about, I think in my first Life Updates episode, that book, Break the Good Girl myth, it's more that idea than, and one of the myths is perfectionism, but it was more holistic than that.
Renee: It wasn't specifically trying to be perfect, but it's what we talked about before, trying to be stable, trying to build or feeling like, well, why is none of this ever working?
Renee: Why is this never enough?
Renee: Getting tired of being resilient all the time and going and going and going.
Renee: What emotions are you experiencing?
Renee: As I was writing about this, I was feeling a little antsy, on edge, hypervigilant, which makes a lot of sense.
Renee: Then which body sensations were present?
Renee: Again, all of this is really a different framework for a mindfulness check-in.
Renee: For Jan, it was the focus on the breaths, the physical sensation of me breathing.
Renee: This is, okay, what's coming up?
Renee: How can I label it?
Renee: Now, how can I label the emotion?
Renee: Now, how can I label what's happening in my body?
Renee: You go through that sequence to get you into not the same exact spot, but to help you break out of that cycle.
Renee: The sensations that I had were jaw tension, clicking, tense shoulders, and back.
Renee: Then what you do is you validate that part.
Renee: I don't actually need that sandcastle.
Renee: It's okay that it keeps getting knocked down.
Renee: It's not a big deal.
Renee: To not keep going and doing, like why am I making myself rebuild the sandcastle over and over again?
Renee: Because maybe I'm never supposed to have that sandcastle, or I'm not supposed to have it right now and just take a break.
Renee: Stop trying to rebuild it.
Renee: That was all caps.
Renee: Take a break and put my energy somewhere else.
Renee: It's at this point that you ask that part to step back.
Renee: The sensation that I had was I felt like my chest was open.
Renee: There was a sense of relaxation.
Renee: I really did like the idea of using this as that mindfulness tool.
Renee: Yes, I could do my Mudras, my Mudras that I had learned from Lisa.
Renee: I could do some of the breath work like I've learned from Jan.
Renee: But I also have this as another tool just remembering to do that sequence and what is it that I'm checking in on.
Renee: I probably have to practice this a few times before I could really start using it.
Renee: But I like the visual of saying, okay, I'm really activated by something right now.
Renee: I'm just going to check in, what's my body doing, what's my emotions doing, what's my mind doing, and then now I'm going to ask it to chill out and step aside so that I can have my higher self take the driver's seat.
Renee: Because I want them in charge.
Renee: I want them to be running what I do next, how I respond, how I navigate out of this.
Closing Thoughts
Renee: Thank you for listening and watching, especially if you tuned in on Spotify.
Renee: I am happy to announce that yay, the wait is over.
Renee: The next episode that is coming to the Synergy to Synastry feed is the third and final, I almost said which lore it is, mini cultural series of the season.
Renee: Last opportunity to place your guesses for what you think it is.
Renee: I read a lot of extra books for this one, did a ton of research.
Renee: Yeah, I actually made a purchase of something I'm going to be using for the practices episode which I have not recorded yet.
Renee: So I am excited to do that in the coming weeks.
Renee: Stay tuned, look for those new episodes in the feed, and let me know what you're thinking of the book.
Renee: Now that we are, oh my gosh, we only have chapters left in this book.
Renee: So let me know what do you think?
Renee: Do you have any favorite stories so far?
Renee: What did you think of my chapter?
Renee: Hopefully, you liked it.
Renee: I have really, really enjoyed doing this book club, and just being able to uncover different stories, learn about different people, connecting with some of them online.
Renee: So I hope that you have found as much value and enlightenment from it as I have.
Renee: I haven't chosen the next batch of Soul Rising chapters to read just yet, nor have I actually read them.
Renee: But you will hear me tease what that group is at the end of an upcoming episode in that new mini-series, so make sure to listen to the end so you'll know what the next reading assignment is, and then be ready for that group to come out.
Outro
Renee: So of course, the second I sit down to record, and let me just take a quick sip of water, immediately spill on myself.
Renee: Classic.
Renee: It looks like my, oh, it dried.
Renee: Thank goodness.
Renee: I mean, it has been an hour.
Renee: I would have hoped it dried by now.
